Christian Lemon

Christian has over 15 years of experience working as a landscape architect, urban designer and planner. His experience managing a number of complex domestic and international projects has spanned the full spectrum of services from programming and conceptual design to detailing and construction observation. Christian serves as a partner and senior designer for Landscape Office overseeing landscape architecture and planning projects.

Christian completed his undergraduate work at Cal Poly Pomona where he received his first professional degree in landscape architecture (BSLA) and the ASLA Certificate of Merit for excellence in the study of landscape architecture in 1994. He then graduated from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design with a post professional degree in landscape architecture (MLA II) in 1997 with an emphasis in urban design.

Since then, Christian has primarily worked as a senior associate at Hart Howerton Planners Architects and Landscape Architects in San Francisco, CA. While at Hart Howerton, he most notably lead the landscape design for the national ASLA award winning 560 Mission Street Plaza in San Francisco, CA (2003) and the LEED Gold-rated CalPERS Headquarters in Sacramento. In addition, he played a significant role in the design and planning of various prestigious resort and community planning projects throughout the western United States.

Christian has consistently worked for extended periods of time in Southeast Asia and China conducting urban design, planning and resort design charrettes. He is a regular guest critic for advanced planning and design studios at the University of California at Berkeley and is a licensed landscape architect in California.
Jennifer Brooke

Jennifer Brooke

Jennifer has over ten years of experience working as a designer and professor of landscape architecture. She has collaborated with local and internationally recognized architects and designers on award-winning projects both professionally and academically. Jennifer serves as a partner and senior designer for Landscape Office overseeing landscape architecture and planning projects.

Jennifer did her undergraduate work at Parsons School of Design in New York City where she studied architecture and received her BFA with honors in 1993. She earned a master of landscape architecture (MLA), from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and the Charles Eliot Traveling Fellowship in 1996.

Since then, Jennifer has worked as a designer in the office of Martha Schwartz, Inc., in Cambridge, MA and Peter Walker and Partners, Inc. in Berkeley, CA. She played the leading role for the design of such projects as the Disney Esplanade in Anaheim, CA, the PeopleSoft Headquarters in Pleasanton, CA and the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas TX.

In addition to professional practice, Jennifer has held a position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at the University of California at Berkeley since 2002. She teaches advanced design and ecological planning studios as well as theory and construction courses. She has also held an adjunct position at the California College of Art in the Architecture Department where she has taught undergraduate design studios. Her research interests are set squarely in-between architecture and landscape, particularly in the reframing of the project site as a resource for the design process.
