Centennial Park This 3 acre park is part of the new Hong University Centennial Campus expansion due to be completed in 2012. Located on top of a municipal water storage facility on a steep hillside, Centennial Park is a roof garden giving the university its largest flat park space on campus. Consequently, the park has been designed for a variety of uses including: graduation ceremonies, outdoor teaching, a sculpture park, recreation and passive enjoyment. As a green roof to the water storage facility, the park will capture all its own rainwater for irrigation. The captured rain water will fuel a “rain garden” water feature element visibly displaying the rain water capture process. The park includes an amphitheater, sculpture park, jogging and walking paths connecting to the new Centennial Campus and existing hillside path system, a generous amount of seating, a large flexible grass area and an abundance of new trees to create shade.
